They were helpful throughout and all the work was carried out to a high standard with good quality materials. Our Copper Beech and Birch Trees were getting out of hand and we were delighted when Ruth and Derek came over to provide us with the benefit of their, clearly, vast experience and knowledge. A combination of felling and trimming was suggested, and this turned out to be a perfect solution. The work was carried out entirely to our satisfaction. The way they carried out their work, with chainsaws, chippers, loppers and blowers was a credit to their profession. Their tree climbing skills were just amazing.

We set Derek and Ruth something of a challenge to secure our multi-level garden to make it safe and usable for us and our dogs. A huge amount of planning went into the job and considerable effort went into getting it right, aesthetically and practically. Derek and the team have done a few jobs for us over the years, the latest was to erect a sheep fence and some remedial work on an existing fence and gateway. We have always found them to be diligent and the quality of the work has always been excellent. They are a pleasure to work with and we would not hesitate to recommend them.

Derek and his team came to do some remedial work on the oak trees in my garden and to fell a cherry tree that was, unfortunately, dying. Working with Derek was very straightforward. We walked the project, had a chat about the driveway and discussed options. He then produced a schedule of works and a quote, along with gravel samples. Work started on time and while we ran a day over, we saved an equivalent amount on materials, bringing the project in on budget. The team worked efficiently and tidily and work progressed logically without any mishaps. The old tarmac was removed and the sub-base rolled before trenches were dug for hedges and gravel put down as a surface. Results are a huge improvement, a good surface, neat borders and no mess. All waste removed and the place looks 100% better than it did. I'd recommend Derek to anyone with a similar project.

Derek and his team undertook a large garden project on a relative's property. This entailed the removal of about a dozen massive trees and replacement of a very long, dilapidated fence. They did an excellent job of both, more than meeting and exceeding our expectations.

They are hard-working, friendly and always clean up the site after completion of the work. Superb all round and highly recommended. Would not hesitate to use again if a need arose in the future.

I cannot recommend Derek and his team enough. They have completed two fencing jobs and some tree surgery for me. Stock fencing around the garden and pale fencing at the front of the property. The pale fencing was awkward with variations in ground level, but Derek came up with a solution. Nothing seemed to be a problem. Don't hesitate to use them; you will get a top class service.

I couldn't recommend Derek more. He was recommended to us by our neighbours when we had the paddock fenced. He did the job quickly, brilliantly and cheaper by far than the other quotes we've had. Since then he's planted a hedge for us - 200 yards of mixed hedging and I think 3 whips have failed. He then did some (horrendous) stump grinding and ground levelling after we had our trees felled, and all that land is now either lawn or pasture that is flat enough to easily mow. He's also happy to fell the odd tree and cut it up for firewood, priceless for a wimp like me not man enough to own a chainsaw. If I'd known him before we had the trees felled I would have got him to do that too, because being "down from London" we were overcharged for a shoddy job. It's just not in Derek's bones to do that. Trust me, trust this man, he'll look after you.

Derek and Sam replaced the dilapidated post and rail fence along our farm track boundary. They had to work round a large sycamore tree and deal with awkward variations in level and ground conditions. Both were a pleasure to work with and and made a very much improved job of it. Their pride in the job is considerable - indeed, my 'that will do solutions' were unacceptable, and rightly so!
The recent bad weather caused a couple of inevitable delays to the planned start and, although timing was not critical, I was kept well informed and never had to chase them.
They will be coming back to do another small job for me and I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Derek and crew put up two excellent stretches of post and wire fencing over the past three days, the quality of the work they carried out was top drawer, with very good attention to detail. They removed the old fencing and also installed chicken wire to prevent our dogs escaping. We are very pleased with the result. We would certainly recommend them.

Derek and his team cut down 3 fir trees next to our house. They did a great job and left our property very tidy, would not know they had been here. Look out for Sam from the Welsh Axe Men his skills are amazing. If you need any tree work done these are the guys to turn too.

Derek and his team completed a large complex scrub clearance project on a local wildlife site in the Shropshire Hills for our clients Higher Level Stewardship Scheme.

Initially Derek met with myself and a Natural England adviser to discuss the exact details of the task in hand and provided us with a very detailed competitive quote.

On acceptance of the quote, the job was started quickly. He and his team were extremely careful to ensure there was no damage left to the land and completed the job to exact specification outlined by Natural England. The site was left immaculately tidy with all timber stacked as per clients request and brash burnt on top of metal sheeting. Both our client and Natural England have called today to express their gratitude to Derek for doing such a fantastic job.
